What the headset is and who it's for

The Astro Gaming A20 Wireless Gen 2 is a 2.4 GHz wireless headset designed for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC using the included transmitter. It uses 40 mm neodymium drivers and a uni-directional 6 mm microphone. The headset weighs 0.70 lb and the transmitter 0.02 lb.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This suits players who want a single wireless headset for Xbox and PC with 15+ hours of battery life and flip-to-mute control. Buyers who need native PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4 compatibility must purchase a separate PlayStation-specific USB transmitter.

The specification that decides fit

The included USB transmitter is Xbox-specific; it enables wireless audio on Xbox consoles and PC but does not work with PlayStation consoles without the separate transmitter.

Questions about this item

How do I set up the USB transmitter for the A20 Wireless Gen 2 on my console?

Plug the included Xbox-specific USB transmitter into the console's USB port; the headset pairs automatically. For PS5 or PS4, purchase the PlayStation-specific transmitter separately and use the same pairing method.

What part of the A20 Wireless Gen 2 will need replacement after extended use?

The built-in rechargeable battery will eventually hold less than the rated 15-plus hours of playtime and cannot be user-swapped; the flip-to-mute microphone boom may also loosen over time.

At what distance does the 2.4 GHz wireless link on the A20 Wireless Gen 2 start to degrade?

The manufacturer rates the wireless range at 15 metres or 49 feet; obstructions and interference will reduce reliable connectivity before that limit is reached.
