Professional Monitor Headphones

The Audio-Technica ATH-M50x headphones are built for critical listening in studio and mobile environments. Large aperture drivers deliver the accurate sonic signature that has defined the M-Series line. Detachable cables add practical flexibility for professional workflows. Robust construction ensures the headphones withstand daily professional use.

Studio Professionals and Mobile Users

These headphones suit audio engineers and reviewers who require accurate sound reproduction and strong isolation during long sessions. Contoured earcups seal tightly to minimise bleed and provide comfort for extended wear. Buyers needing wireless connectivity or active noise cancellation should consider alternative designs. The wired, professional focus does not address consumer lifestyle features.

Detachable Cable System for Flexible Builds

The detachable cable design allows quick replacement or routing changes without replacing the entire unit. This modularity frees up cable management options in fixed studio installations or portable recording kits. Professional-grade materials maintain durability across repeated connect and disconnect cycles. The headphones integrate directly into any standard monitoring chain.

Questions about this item

What audio source do I need to connect these headphones to?

The detachable cables plug into any device with a standard headphone output, such as an audio interface, portable recorder or headphone amplifier.

Will the circumaural earcups fit over my existing on-ear headphones?

These are full-size circumaural headphones designed to be worn directly on the ears, not over another pair.

How can I confirm the headphones are reproducing sound accurately after I plug them in?

Play a well-known reference track; the M-Series sonic signature should reveal clear detail across the frequency range without exaggerated bass or treble.
