Fast 12X Blu-ray reading
The ASUS BC-12B1ST is an internal SATA optical drive built for users who need to read Blu-ray discs at up to 12X speed and write DVDs at up to 16X. It also handles CD media with 48X read and 24X rewrite rates, making it suitable for archiving, media playback and software installation on desktop PCs.
Black bezel and SATA connectivity
A black front panel matches dark-themed builds while the standard SATA data and power connectors fit any desktop chassis with a 5.25-inch bay. E-Green engine management cuts drive power draw by more than 50% during operation, and OTS technology works to keep burn quality consistent across supported DVD and CD formats.
Check bay space and software needs
Verify your case has a free 5.25-inch external bay and that your motherboard or add-in card offers a spare SATA port. Blu-ray 3D playback and 2D-to-3D conversion require compatible display hardware and player software, while Disc Encryption II and E-Hammer data-erase functions depend on the bundled Windows utilities.
