Questions about this item

How fast can the drive read a BD disc at its top 12X speed before heat slows it down?

The drive reads BD media at up to 12X; sustained high-speed reads may cause the firmware to throttle speed to manage temperature.

How much power does the drive draw and how loud is it during all-day DVD burning at 16X?

It runs on standard SATA power from the PC supply; noise stays at typical optical-drive levels during continuous 16X DVD writes.

What SATA cable and drive bay does my case need to fit this 5.25-inch half-height unit?

A standard SATA data cable and a 5.25-inch half-height bay (1.7 in tall, 5.7 in wide, 6.7 in deep) are required.
