Four NVMe M.2 slots on PCIe 3.0 x16

This ASUS expansion card adds four M.2 Socket 3 M-Key slots to a desktop system. It accepts NVMe drives in 2242, 2260, 2280 and 22110 lengths. The card plugs into a PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot and also works in x8 or x16 mechanical slots. A built-in heatsink and blower-style fan keep all four drives cool under heavy load.

For Intel VROC or AMD Threadripper RAID builds

The card is designed for users who want a bootable NVMe RAID array using Intel VROC on X299 or Z370 motherboards, or AMD Ryzen Threadripper on X399, X470, B450, X370 or B350 boards. It requires CPU-attached PCIe lanes and platform RAID support. Builders without a compatible Intel or AMD Threadripper platform cannot use the RAID features and should look at a different controller.

128 Gbps total bandwidth with 14 W per drive power

The card delivers up to 128 Gbps of combined bandwidth across the four slots when the platform provides enough PCIe 3.0 lanes. Its two-phase power design supplies up to 14 W to each installed drive, ensuring stable operation for high-performance NVMe SSDs.

Questions about this item

What is the maximum power the card can deliver to each M.2 drive under sustained load?

The upgraded two-phase power solution provides up to 14W per drive to prevent throttling during heavy workloads.

How loud or hot does the active blower fan and heatsink get during all-day operation?

A large heatsink and integrated blower-style fan are designed to maintain peak performance without thermal throttling during continuous use.

Which motherboard chipsets and CPU platforms must I already have to enable bootable NVMe RAID on this card?

Intel VROC requires X299 or Z370 chipsets with Intel SSDs; AMD NVMe RAID requires X399, X470, B450, X370 or B350 chipsets on Ryzen Threadripper CPUs.
