Micro-ATX board for AM4 Ryzen CPUs with four DDR4 slots up to 128 GB, PCIe 3.0 x16, M.2, USB 3.2 Gen 2 and HDMI 2.0b
The ASUS Prime B450M-A II uses the AMD B450 chipset and an AM4 socket that accepts Ryzen 5000 series and 3rd, 2nd, and 1st Gen Ryzen processors. Four DDR4 slots support up to 128 GB of memory with overclocked speeds reaching 4400 MHz. The board targets builders who want a compact micro-ATX foundation for productivity or general computing.
A single M.2 socket takes 2242, 2260, 2280, and 22110 drives in both SATA and PCIe 3.0 x4 modes, while six SATA 6 Gb/s ports handle additional storage. Video output relies on the processor and provides HDMI 2.0b, DVI-D, and D-Sub ports. Rear USB includes 3.2 Gen 2 at 10 Gbps. VRM and PCH heatsinks with thermal pads manage heat, and stainless-steel back I/O plus LANGuard and SafeSlot Core protections reinforce durability.
The primary PCIe 3.0 x16 slot runs at x16 with 3rd Gen Ryzen and drops to x8 with 2nd and 1st Gen Ryzen, while Athlon CPUs limit it further. Two PCIe 2.0 x1 slots handle add-in cards. Networking is handled by a Realtek RTL8111H controller capped at 1 Gbps. Memory overclocks above 2666 MHz are not guaranteed and depend on the specific CPU and DIMM combination.

The M.2 Socket 3 with M key runs at PCIe 3.0 x4 and accepts 2242, 2260, 2280 and 22110 modules.
It follows the micro-ATX form factor with the standard four mounting holes for that size.
Use the BIOS Flashback button on the rear I/O: copy the renamed BIOS file to a FAT32 USB stick, plug it into the dedicated port, press the button and wait for the LED to finish blinking.
