ATX motherboard for 8th and 9th generation Intel Core processors with dual-channel DDR4 up to 64 GB, one full-length PCIe 3.0 x16 slot, four SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports and an M.2 socket supporting 2242.
This ATX motherboard uses the Intel Z390 chipset and an LGA 1151 socket to support Core i7, i5, i3, Pentium and Celeron processors. Four DDR4 slots accept up to 64 GB of memory with speeds ranging from 2133 to 4266 MHz when overclocked. The board targets builders who want a mainstream platform with current connectivity.
The 5X Protection III suite adds SafeSlot Core reinforcement on the primary PCIe 3.0 x16 slot, LANGuard for the Realtek RTL8111H network controller and overvoltage protection across the PCB. Four SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports handle traditional drives while a single M.2 Socket 3 accepts 2242, 2260 or 2280 devices in SATA or PCIe 3.0 x2 mode. Four PCIe 3.0 x1 slots and an M.2 Key E slot for a CNVi Wi-Fi module complete the expansion options.
FanXpert 4 software provides automatic fan tuning and includes a dedicated AIO pump header for liquid-cooling control. The Realtek ALC887 codec drives 8-channel HD audio through the rear panel and front-panel header. ASUS OptiMem II topology improves trace routing for better DRAM overclocking stability, while Intel Optane memory readiness allows caching of a mechanical drive when a compatible module is installed.

The board provides one x16 slot that runs at x16 or splits to x8+x4+x4, and a second x16 slot limited to x4 mode.
Standard ATX dimensions apply; the fortified SafeSlot Core needs a case with enough rear-bracket depth for heavyweight graphics cards.
Insert the 2242, 2260 or 2280 drive into the M-key socket at a 30° angle, secure with the standoff screw, and enable PCIe 3.0 x4 or SATA mode in BIOS.
