ASUS ROG GR701 liquid-cooled desktop

The ASUS ROG GR701 is a new gaming desktop built around a 24-core Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor running at 5.7GHz. It targets enthusiasts who want a pre-assembled, liquid-cooled system that arrives tested and ready for immediate play. The 360mm liquid cooler keeps the high-core-count CPU stable under sustained loads. Windows 11 Home is pre-installed on the fast NVMe boot drive.

Intel Core Ultra 9 285K 24-core processor

The single specification that decides fit is the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K with 24 cores and a 5.7GHz base frequency on the LGA 1851 platform. This CPU delivers the multi-thread throughput needed for heavy streaming, rendering or compile workloads alongside gaming. Buyers who need more cores or a different socket should look elsewhere, as the motherboard supports only one processor and the socket is fixed.

1TB NVMe plus 2TB HDD storage

Capacity combines a 1TB NVMe SSD for operating system and active titles with a 2TB SATA III HDD for bulk media and backups. The NVMe drive provides quick boot and level loads, while the hard drive absorbs large libraries without pressure on the primary volume. Users who want a larger all-flash array or faster secondary storage will need to add drives themselves.

Questions about this item

How does the 5.7GHz 24-core Ultra 9 285K perform inside this chassis?

The 5.7GHz boost clock on all 24 cores is sustained by the 360mm liquid cooler, so heavy workloads keep high frequency without thermal throttling.

What does the PCI Express x16 slot limit for the RTX 5060?

The card runs at full PCI Express x16 bandwidth, so the 8GB GDDR7 frame buffer and GPU compute are not bottlenecked by the interface.

Will the 360mm liquid cooler fit in a standard mid-tower case?

The GR701 chassis is built around the 360mm radiator, so it mounts internally without modification and leaves the four DDR5 slots accessible.
