PCI Express expansion card adds an NVMe M.2 slot with an integrated heatsink for high-speed storage upgrades
The ASUS ROG HYPER M.2 Card adds a PCIe NVMe slot to compatible ASUS motherboards. It targets gamers and content creators who need maximum storage performance for intensive workloads. An integrated heatsink keeps the drive cool during sustained heavy use. The card delivers a sleek design that matches ROG aesthetics.
This card expands NVMe capacity when motherboard M.2 slots are fully occupied or absent. The jump is worth it for users running multiple high-speed drives for large game libraries or video editing scratch disks. It is not for builders whose boards already have enough native Gen5-ready M.2 ports. Buyers needing RAID support should verify motherboard compatibility first.
Insert the card into a free PCI Express slot and secure the NVMe SSD with the provided screw. Attach the heatsink using the included thermal pads for proper contact. What usually goes wrong: forgetting to remove protective films from thermal pads, overtightening the SSD screw, or selecting a slot that shares bandwidth with the primary GPU. Ensure the motherboard BIOS recognises the new drive before formatting.

The card uses a PCI Express interface, so it installs into any available PCIe slot on a compatible ASUS motherboard; the physical slot length must match or exceed the card's edge connector.
After seating the card in the PCIe slot, the M.2 NVMe SSD must be inserted into the onboard M.2 socket and secured with the screw, then the heatsink placed on top for thermal contact.
The included heatsink relies on thermal pads or paste between it and the SSD; those interface materials can dry out and should be replaced if drive temperatures rise.
