Socket & chipset

The ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 APEX ENCORE is an ATX motherboard built for the LGA 1700 socket and Intel Z790 chipset. It targets enthusiasts building high-performance Intel systems. The board supports DDR5 memory up to a maximum capacity of 96GB. It arrives new, supplied with a chassis I/O back panel and one SATA cable.

Ideal use cases

This motherboard suits builders who need the Z790 feature set and a 96GB DDR5 ceiling for demanding workloads or gaming rigs. Buyers requiring more than 96GB of system memory or a different CPU socket should look at other platforms. Anyone expecting a full retail accessory bundle will not find it here, as only the back panel and a single SATA cable are included.

Deciding specification

The 96GB DDR5 maximum memory supported is the single figure that determines whether this board fits a build. If the planned configuration stays at or below that limit, the motherboard can meet the requirement; if the build demands more memory capacity, this model cannot accommodate it.
