16-core i7-14650HX gaming laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 G615JHR pairs a 14th Generation Intel Core i7-14650HX processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 graphics card. Sixteen cores and twenty-four threads handle heavy multitasking and modern game engines. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR5 memory and a sixteen terabyte NVMe SSD provide capacity for large libraries. Windows 11 Pro comes pre-installed.

Best for high-core-count mobile work and play

Creators and gamers who need sixteen cores in a sixteen-inch chassis will benefit from the 5.7 GHz turbo frequency and 30 MB cache. The 165 Hz IPS-level panel at 1920 x 1200 resolution supports fast motion clarity. Buyers wanting a lighter ultraportable or a smaller screen diagonal should consider other form factors.

RTX 5050 with 8 GB GDDR7 decides fit

The graphics card uses 8 GB of GDDR7 video memory, which sets the ceiling for texture-heavy workloads and high-resolution gaming. If your titles or applications demand more video memory, this SKU will limit performance. Match the GPU memory to your pipeline before purchasing.

Questions about this item

Will the 16" WUXGA 165Hz panel fit in a standard 16-inch laptop sleeve?

The chassis measures 13.94" x 10.55" x 0.90" ~ 1.21", so check the sleeve internal dimensions against those figures before buying.

Does the i7-14650HX 16-core processor need extra cooling beyond the factory solution?

The CPU already has Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut applied and the GPU uses Gelid GC Extreme, so the thermal interface is upgraded from stock.

Is the 16 TB NVMe storage a single drive or multiple modules?

It is configured as 2 x 8 TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSDs installed in the available slots.
