Built for High-Performance Gaming

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 is a gaming laptop built around an Intel Core i7-14650HX processor with 16 cores and 24 threads, reaching a max turbo frequency of 5.2 GHz. It pairs that CPU with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU equipped with 8GB GDDR7 video memory. The system includes 64GB DDR5 memory and a 4TB PCIe SSD, running Windows 11 Home on a 16" FHD+ 165Hz display in Eclipse Gray.

Thermals Noise and Power

ROG Intelligent Cooling manages heat from the 16-core processor and RTX 5060 graphics during extended gaming sessions. The 165Hz FHD+ panel delivers smooth motion without adding acoustic load. Power draw scales with the 5.2 GHz turbo ceiling and the discrete GPU, while Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth maintain connectivity without noticeable thermal impact. The chassis measures 13.94 x 10.55 x 0.9 inches and weighs 5.83 pounds.

165Hz FHD+ Display Decides Fit

The 16-inch 1920 x 1200 panel at 165Hz is the single specification that determines whether this laptop matches your play style. Competitive shooters benefit from the high refresh rate, while the 16:10 aspect ratio adds vertical space for productivity. If your workflow or games demand a higher resolution or a faster refresh ceiling, this screen specification will be the limiting factor.

Questions about this item

Will the 16 inch FHD+ 165Hz panel fit in a standard 15 inch laptop sleeve?

The chassis measures 13.94 x 10.55 x 0.9 inches so a 15 inch sleeve will be too small; choose a 16 inch or larger sleeve for proper fit

Does the i7-14650HX 16 core processor need extra cooling beyond the built-in ROG Intelligent Cooling?

The integrated ROG Intelligent Cooling system is designed for the 5.2 GHz max turbo frequency; no external cooler is required for normal operation

Are the two Superspeed USB Type-C ports capable of driving external monitors without a dock?

Yes, each Type-C port supports video output so you can connect displays directly using USB-C to HDMI or DisplayPort cables
