18-inch Ryzen 9 gaming laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 G814FM pairs an 18-inch WUXGA 144Hz IPS-level display with an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX 16-core processor and NVIDIA RTX 5060 graphics. It ships with 64 GB of DDR5 memory and an 8 TB PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD array. Windows 11 Home is pre-installed on the 6.61 lb Eclipse Gray chassis.

Sustained load with upgraded thermal interface

HIDevolution applies Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut on the CPU and Gelid GC Extreme on the GPU before a full burn-in stress test. The liquid metal and high-conductivity paste target lower core temperatures during extended gaming or rendering sessions. The 144 Hz panel and RTX 5060 with 8 GB GDDR7 remain stable while the 16-core CPU holds high turbo frequencies.

Verify power and port requirements before ordering

The 18.0-inch form factor measures 15.71 by 11.57 by 0.91 to 1.21 inches and needs a bag or sleeve that fits those dimensions. Confirm your workspace power outlet can supply the factory adapter wattage and that any external monitors use interfaces present on the laptop. The 2025 build-to-order configuration includes a 2-5 working day lead time for the thermal and storage upgrades.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the G814FM run with the Ryzen 9 9955HX and RTX 5060 under all-day load?

The laptop uses Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut on the CPU and Gelid GC Extreme on the GPU to keep temperatures lower during sustained workloads.

What must I already own to use the 18 inch WUXGA 144Hz display and 64 GB DDR5 5600 memory out of the box?

Windows 11 Home is pre-installed and all components are integrated, so no extra parts are required for the screen or memory to function.

Will my older PCIe 3.0 NVMe drives work alongside the installed 8 TB PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD in the G814FM?

The system includes two M.2 slots populated with 4 TB PCIe 4.0 drives; older PCIe 3.0 drives are compatible but will operate at their own slower speeds.
