18-inch WUXGA 144 Hz Gaming Laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 G814FM pairs an 18.0-inch 1920 x 1200 IPS-level panel at 144 Hz with an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX 16-core processor and NVIDIA RTX 5060 graphics. It ships with 96 GB of DDR5 memory in dual-channel configuration and 16 TB of PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe storage across two 8 TB drives. Windows 11 Home is pre-installed.

Sustained 16-core CPU and RTX 5060 Load

The Ryzen 9 9955HX runs at a 2.5 GHz base with a 5.4 GHz max turbo across 16 cores and 32 threads, backed by 64 MB of L3 cache. The RTX 5060 provides 8 GB of GDDR7 video memory. Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut on the CPU and Gelid GC Extreme on the GPU are applied to maintain clocks during extended sessions rather than short bursts.

Thermals Noise and Power in Normal Use

Upgraded thermal interface materials target lower core temperatures for both processor and graphics chip under typical gaming workloads. The 0.91 to 1.21 inch chassis profile and 6.61 lb weight house the cooling system required for the 16-core CPU and discrete GPU. Fan behaviour and acoustic output scale with the sustained power draw of the combined 9955HX and RTX 5060 package.
