18-inch Ryzen 9 gaming laptop

This ASUS ROG Strix G18 G814FM pairs an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX 16-core processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card. It ships with 96 GB of DDR5 5600 MHz memory in dual-channel configuration and a 2 TB PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD. The 18.0-inch WUXGA IPS-level display runs at 144 Hz and 1920 x 1200 resolution. Windows 11 Home is pre-installed.

Check memory and storage compatibility

The system uses two 48 GB DDR5 SO-DIMM modules filling both slots, so any future memory change requires a full kit replacement. The 2 TB M.2 drive occupies one PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe slot; verify the laptop provides a second M.2 slot before planning an additional drive. Ensure your external peripherals and docks match the available USB and video ports on this chassis.

Thermals noise and power in normal use

HIDevolution applies Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut on the CPU and Gelid GC Extreme on the GPU to lower core temperatures under load. The 16-core Ryzen 9 9955HX can reach a 5.4 GHz max turbo frequency, so fan speeds will rise during sustained gaming or rendering sessions. The 18-inch chassis provides internal airflow space, while the RTX 5060 with 8 GB GDDR7 draws power within the laptop's cooling capacity.
