18" WQXGA 240Hz gaming laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 G814FP-WS96-HID10 is an 18-inch Windows 11 Home gaming laptop built around an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX 16-core processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card with 8 GB GDDR7 memory. It targets enthusiasts who want desktop-class multi-thread performance and high-refresh visuals in a single portable chassis.

Eclipse Gray chassis with liquid-metal CPU compound

The Eclipse Gray chassis measures 15.71" x 11.57" x 0.91" ~ 1.21" and weighs 6.61 lbs. HIDevolution applies Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut on the CPU and Gelid GC Extreme on the GPU, a factory thermal-interface upgrade intended to lower sustained temperatures during heavy workloads.

64 GB DDR5 5600 dual-channel

The system ships with 64 GB of DDR5 5600 memory in a 2 x 32 GB dual-channel configuration and 16 TB of PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe storage arranged as 2 x 8 TB M.2 drives. This combination replaces the need for aftermarket memory or storage upgrades, making the jump worthwhile for users who run memory-intensive applications and large game libraries simultaneously.

Questions about this item

What PCIe generation does the 16 TB SSD use, and what speed does that cap?

The 16 TB storage uses two 8 TB M.2 drives on a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface, capping sequential throughput at the PCIe 4.0 limit.

What are the exact chassis dimensions and weight for mount or bag planning?

The laptop measures 15.71" wide, 11.57" deep, 0.91" to 1.21" high and weighs 6.61 lbs.

How is the 64 GB DDR5 memory installed, and what slot error do buyers make?

It ships as two 32 GB DDR5 5600 modules filling both SO-DIMM slots; the common mistake is buying a single 64 GB stick instead of a matched pair.
