ASUS ROG Strix G18 18-inch Gaming Laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 is an 18-inch gaming laptop built around a 16-core AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX processor and an NVIDIA RTX 5070 graphics card with 8 GB GDDR7 video memory. It runs Windows 11 Home in an Eclipse Gray chassis and targets enthusiasts who want desktop-class performance in a portable form factor.

32 GB DDR5 Memory and 2 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe Storage

The system ships with 32 GB of DDR5 5600 MHz dual-channel memory and a 2 TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD. That capacity handles modern AAA titles, heavy multitasking and large project files comfortably, while the fast storage keeps boot and load times short. Memory-intensive workloads beyond 32 GB will require an upgrade.

Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut

HIDevolution applies Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut liquid metal on the CPU and Gelid GC Extreme on the GPU as a thermal interface upgrade. The custom paste application lowers core temperatures under sustained load, helping the 16-core processor and RTX 5070 maintain higher boost clocks for longer periods. A full quality-control burn-in validates the thermal improvement before shipment.

Questions about this item

Will the 2.5 GHz Ryzen 9 9955HX and RTX 5070 work with my existing DDR5 5600 memory kit if I add it alongside the soldered 32 GB?

The laptop ships with 32 GB of DDR5 5600 in a dual-channel configuration; any additional modules must match that speed and voltage to maintain stability.

How can I verify the 240 Hz WQXGA panel and Gelid GC Extreme GPU paste are performing correctly after first boot?

Run a GPU stress test while monitoring core temperatures — sustained loads should stay well below thermal limits, and the on-screen display will confirm the 240 Hz refresh rate is active.

Does the 2 TB PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD come pre-installed, or do I need to supply my own drive and Windows 11 licence?

The 2 TB NVMe SSD and a Windows 11 Home licence are both factory-installed; nothing else is required to start using the system.
