18-inch WUXGA 144Hz gaming laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 G814PH is an 18-inch gaming laptop built around a 16-core Ryzen 9 8940HX processor and an RTX 5050 GPU with 8 GB GDDR7 video memory. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and targets enthusiasts who want a large, high-refresh display in a portable chassis.

Pre-applied thermal upgrades and validated build

HIDevolution applies Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut on the CPU and Gelid GC Extreme on the GPU before shipment, then runs a full burn-in and benchmark suite to verify temperatures and stability. The laptop arrives with the latest BIOS and drivers installed, so no immediate configuration is required.

32 GB DDR5 5600 and 2 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe

Dual-channel 32 GB DDR5 5600 memory and a 2 TB PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD provide ample space for modern titles and multitasking. Heavy workloads that exceed 32 GB system memory or 8 GB video memory will require external storage or a memory upgrade.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the Ryzen 9 8940HX is hitting its 5.2 GHz turbo and the RTX 5050 is running at full power after setup?

Open the Armoury Crate utility, select Performance mode, and watch the real-time CPU clock graph reach 5.2 GHz and the GPU power draw hold steady at the 8 GB GDDR7 limit during a heavy game or benchmark.

What ships in the box and what must I buy separately?

The box contains the G814PH-ES94 laptop, its power adapter, and documentation; the 32 GB DDR5 5600 MHz memory and 2 TB PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD are already installed, so no extra parts are required.

Which configuration should I choose if I want the 18 inch 1920 x 1200 144 Hz panel with the 16 core Ryzen 9 8940HX and RTX 5050?

The G814PH-ES94 model matches that exact specification: 18.0 inch WUXGA 144 Hz display, 16 core Ryzen 9 8940HX, RTX 5050 with 8 GB GDDR7, 32 GB DDR5, and 2 TB PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe storage.
