18" 240Hz WQXGA gaming laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 is an 18-inch Windows 11 Pro gaming laptop built around a Ryzen 9 8940HX processor with 16 cores and 32 threads. It pairs 32GB of DDR5 SO-DIMM memory with a 2TB PCIe NVMe SSD and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 GPU equipped with 8GB of GDDR7 memory. The 2560x1600 display runs at 240Hz for smooth motion in fast-paced titles.

Suits competitive players.

This machine suits competitive players who want a large high-refresh screen and desktop-class multi-thread performance in a single chassis. Content creators handling video timelines or 3D scenes will benefit from the core count and fast storage. Buyers who prioritise lightweight travel or all-day battery life away from a desk should look at thinner ultraportables instead.

240Hz 2560x1600 panel decides fit

The defining specification is the 18-inch 2560x1600 panel running at 240Hz, which sets the visual ceiling for every game and creative application. If your workflow or play style demands that refresh rate at this resolution, the laptop matches the requirement. If a lower refresh rate or smaller screen meets your needs, a different model will serve you better.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and do I need to buy a charger or RAM separately?

The laptop ships with a 280 W power supply, a 4-cell 90 Wh battery, Windows 11 Pro pre-installed and 32 GB DDR5 SO-DIMM already fitted, so no extra memory or charger purchase is required.

Should I pick the 18" 240 Hz WQXGA panel or a different screen option?

This model only offers the single 18.0" 2560x1600 240 Hz display; there is no alternative panel listed, so the choice is already made for you.

How does the 240 Hz refresh rate feel in actual games?

The 240 Hz panel can show up to 240 frames per second, so fast-paced titles run with noticeably smoother motion and lower perceived latency compared with standard 60 Hz screens.
