18-inch gaming laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 is an 18-inch gaming laptop built around an AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX 16-core processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 GPU with 8GB GDDR7 memory. It runs Windows 11 Home and includes a licensed copy of Office 2024. The 18.0" FHD+ display delivers a 1920 x 1200 resolution at 144Hz for smooth motion in fast-paced titles.

Ports and connectivity

Two USB 4.0 Type-C ports support DisplayPort, G-SYNC and power delivery, while two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports handle legacy peripherals. An HDMI 2.1 FRL output drives external displays, and a 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 LAN port provides wired networking. Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) triple-band 2x2 and Bluetooth 5.3 handle wireless links, and a 3.5mm combo audio jack covers headsets.

Best for single-machine gamers

This configuration suits players who want a large high-refresh screen, 16-core CPU performance and 2TB of PCIe storage in one chassis. Buyers who need user-replaceable memory or a second GPU should look elsewhere, as the 16GB DDR5 is soldered and the laptop houses only the single RTX 5050 graphics module. The 6.61-pound weight and 0.91-inch thickness also make it less convenient for daily commuting.
