18-inch WQXGA 240Hz gaming laptop

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 is an 18-inch gaming laptop built around an AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX processor with 16 cores and 32 threads boosting to 5.3 GHz. It pairs that CPU with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPU carrying 8GB of GDDR7 memory. The system ships with 64GB of DDR5 memory and a 4TB PCIe SSD running Windows 11 Pro.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

Creative professionals and competitive gamers who need a large high-refresh panel and strong multi-threaded performance will benefit from the 2560 x 1600 240Hz display and 16-core processor. Buyers who prioritise maximum portability or battery life should consider smaller form factors because the 18-inch chassis and discrete graphics demand more power and space.

The specification that decides fit

The single specification that decides whether this is the right part is the 18-inch WQXGA 240Hz display combined with the RTX 5070 8GB GDDR7 GPU, because that pairing determines both the visual throughput and the physical footprint you must accommodate.
