18" WQXGA 240Hz Gaming Laptop

This ASUS ROG Strix G18 pairs an 18-inch WQXGA display running at 240Hz with an AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX 16-core processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 8GB GDDR7 graphics. It ships with 64GB DDR5 memory and a 1TB PCIe SSD. The system targets gamers and creators who need high refresh rates and multi-threaded performance in a single portable chassis.

Ports and connectivity to verify

Two USB4 Type-C ports each deliver up to 40Gbps data with DisplayPort and G-SYNC support; one also handles power delivery. An HDMI 2.1 FRL output, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, an RJ45 LAN jack and a 3.5mm combo audio jack complete the wired interface. Wireless uses Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) triple-band 2x2 plus Bluetooth 5.3.

Build integration and thermal headroom

The laptop measures 15.71 x 11.57 x 0.91 inches and weighs 6.61 lbs, so confirm your bag or sleeve fits those dimensions. Dual USB4 ports free up dock bandwidth for external GPUs or high-speed storage without consuming the HDMI 2.1 link. The 16-core CPU and RTX 5070 share a vapour-chamber cooling design that sustains 5.3GHz turbo clocks during extended loads.
