18-inch 240 Hz gaming laptop for competitive players

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 pairs an AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 8GB GDDR7 GPU. The 18.0" WQXGA panel runs at 2560x1600 and 240 Hz for fast-paced titles. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR5 SO-DIMM memory and a 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD complete the core specification. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed.

Factory-upgraded unit ready to use out of the box

Technicians open the original packaging to install the advertised memory and storage configuration before testing. No further assembly is required by the buyer. The only common issue is ensuring the 280W power adapter is seated firmly; a loose connection can prevent the system from reaching full turbo clocks.

PCIe NVMe storage and WiFi 6E connectivity limits

The 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD delivers sequential speeds typical of Gen 4 drives, but sustained writes may throttle under heavy workloads. WiFi 6E (802.11ax) offers low latency on compatible routers, yet real-world throughput drops sharply beyond a single wall. The single HDMI output supports external displays up to the panel's native 2560x1600 at 240 Hz.
