Core specification

The ASUS ROG Strix Helios GX601 White is a new gaming desktop built around an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 16-core processor running at 4.7GHz and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card with 32GB GDDR7 memory. It ships with 64GB DDR5 RAM, a 4TB NVMe SSD plus a 2TB SATA III HDD, a 1200W power supply and Windows 11 Home. A 360mm liquid cooler handles the CPU.

Upgrade path

This system replaces an older desktop that struggles with modern titles at high settings or lacks the VRAM headroom for 4K and VR workloads. The jump is worth it when your current CPU bottlenecks frame rates in CPU-heavy games or when your GPU memory forces texture downgrades. The 16-core Ryzen 7 and RTX 5090 combination removes those limits in a single purchase.

Compatibility check

Verify that your monitor cable matches the RTX 5090 display outputs and that your desk space accommodates a full-size tower chassis. Ensure your mains circuit can sustain a 1200W power supply under load. Confirm the operating system language and regional settings meet your needs before ordering.

Questions about this item

What case clearance is needed for the 360 mm liquid cooler on this ASUS ROG Strix Helios GX601?

The 360 mm liquid cooler requires a case with a 360 mm radiator mounting area, typically at the top or front, and enough clearance for three 120 mm fans plus tubing.

How is the 360 mm liquid cooler installed, and what step do builders often miss?

The cooler arrives pre-filled; mount the radiator with fans oriented for exhaust, attach the pump block to the AM5 socket using the supplied bracket, and connect the pump header and fan cables to the motherboard.

What maintenance will the 360 mm liquid cooler and 1200 W power supply need later?

Check the cooler for dust on the radiator fins and listen for pump noise every six months; the 1200 W power supply fan should be cleaned annually, but the sealed loop requires no fluid replacement.
