96% layout for desk space

The ROG Strix Scope II 96 RX Wireless is a compact gaming keyboard that keeps every function and number key in a form factor only one centimetre wider than a typical 80% board. Optical ROG RX Red linear switches provide consistent, wobble-free actuation with near-zero debounce delay. A detachable wrist rest and three tilt angles support long sessions. It suits players who want full key access without sacrificing mouse room.

Tri-mode limits and polling

Bluetooth connects up to three devices for multi-system switching. The 2.4 GHz ROG SpeedNova link delivers up to 378 hours of battery life per charge. Wired USB-C offers the lowest latency path. An optional ROG Polling Rate Booster raises the report rate to 8000 Hz for a 0.125 ms response time, but the booster is sold separately and only works over the 2.4 GHz connection.

Simple setup with hotkey quirks

Plug the included wireless receiver into a USB port or use the extender for clearer signal; the board pairs instantly in 2.4 GHz mode. Bluetooth pairing follows standard OS steps for up to three hosts. Pre-lubed stabilisers and sound-dampening foam are factory-fitted, so no internal work is needed. The F1–F5 keys default to Xbox Game Bar and recording shortcuts, which may conflict with custom keybinds until remapped in Armoury Crate.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 96% layout over a full-size keyboard?

The 96% layout keeps every function and number key while being only 1 cm wider than a standard 80% board, freeing desk space for mouse movement.

What does the 8000 Hz polling rate mean in actual use?

With the ROG Polling Rate Booster the keyboard reports input every 0.125 ms, delivering near-instant keystroke registration in fast-paced games.

How does the tri-mode connection affect latency and battery life?

2.4 GHz ROG SpeedNova wireless gives low-latency gaming for up to 378 hours; Bluetooth pairs up to three devices; wired USB-C removes latency entirely.
