Mini-ITX Z390 board for 8th and 9th Gen Intel CPUs with dual M.2, USB 3.1 Gen 2 and integrated Wi-Fi
This ASUS ROG Strix motherboard uses the Intel Z390 chipset on a Mini ITX PCB with an LGA 1151 socket. It supports 8th and 9th generation Intel Core i9, i7, i5, i3, Pentium and Celeron processors. The board carries two DDR4 slots and a pre-mounted I/O shield for easier assembly.
Two M.2 sockets accept 2242, 2260 and 2280 modules running in PCIe 3.0 x4 or SATA modes. When the first M.2 socket operates in SATA mode, the second SATA port is disabled. Four SATA 6Gbps ports and USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A plus Type-C connectors provide additional storage and peripheral bandwidth.
Verify that the processor is an 8th or 9th generation Intel Core part; earlier LGA 1151 CPUs are not supported. The board holds two DIMM slots with a listed maximum of 32 GB, though the manufacturer notes that double-capacity modules can raise the ceiling to 64 GB. Confirm your cooler clears the VRM and M.2 heatsinks in a compact chassis.

The board uses the mini-ITX form factor with a pre-mounted I/O shield, so it installs directly into any standard mini-ITX chassis using the regular standoffs and screws supplied with the case.
Two DDR4 UDIMM slots accept double-capacity modules up to 32 GB each for a total of 64 GB; speeds from 2133 to 4600 are listed, with all frequencies above 2666 requiring overclocking.
Both M.2 sockets support PCIe 3.0 x4 and SATA modes, but when the first socket runs in SATA mode the second SATA port is disabled; in PCIe mode both drives operate at full x4 bandwidth.
