Model ROG STRIX Z890-A GAMING WIFI S
CPU +Ultra 9 285K
This bundle pairs the ROG STRIX Z890-A GAMING WIFI S motherboard with the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor. The board uses the Intel Z890 chipset and an LGA 1851 socket ready for Intel Core Ultra Series 2 CPUs. It targets enthusiasts building high-performance AI workstations or gaming rigs that need strong compute and fast connectivity.
Your existing cooler must mount on the LGA 1851 socket pattern. The board provides four 288-pin DDR5 slots supporting up to 192 GB in dual-channel mode with speeds up to 9066 MT/s when overclocked. Verify that your power supply includes the required ProCool II connectors for the 16+2+1+2 power-stage design. Ensure your chassis fits an ATX motherboard and has clearance for the large heatsinks and L-shaped heatpipe.
The Core Ultra 9 285K carries a 125 W base power rating and uses a 3 nm process with 36 MB L3 and 40 MB L2 cache. The motherboard uses massive heatsinks, high-conductivity thermal pads and an L-shaped heatpipe to dissipate heat from the 90 A and 80 A power stages. AI Cooling II manages the five 4-pin chassis fan headers, the CPU fan header, the CPU OPT header and the AIO pump header to balance airflow and acoustics under load.

Other versions of this model
The Core Ultra 9 285K is supplied as a processor only with no cooling device in the box, so a compatible LGA 1851 cooler must be purchased separately.
The board supports up to 9066 MT/s when overclocked, but the rated XMP ceiling depends on the memory kit you choose; any DDR5 CUDIMM kit within the 192 GB total will run at its rated profile.
The 125 W rating is the processor base power; sustained loads can draw more, so pair the CPU with a cooler rated for at least that TDP and use the board's 16+2+1+2 90 A power stages for stable delivery.
