A 1U rack server barebone supporting one AMD EPYC 9005 CPU, 24 DDR5 ECC slots, 12 hot-swap NVMe bays and dual 1600W redundant power supplies
The ASUS RS501A-E12-RS12-16TWH is a 1U rackmount barebone server designed for single AMD EPYC 9005 or 9004 series processors. It provides 24 DDR5 ECC Registered memory slots in a 12-channel architecture and twelve hot-swappable 2.5-inch NVMe drive bays. Two PCIe 5.0 M.2 slots and three PCIe 5.0 expansion slots add further I/O capacity.
This platform suits operators building high-density compute or all-flash storage nodes where a single processor with 192 cores and 3 TB memory capacity is sufficient. It also fits workloads that can use up to two single-slot GPUs. Buyers who need dual-socket scaling, larger 3.5-inch drive bays, or more than three PCIe 5.0 add-in cards should look at a different chassis.
The defining specification is the combination of 24 DDR5 slots running at up to 5200 MHz and twelve front-panel NVMe bays backed by PCIe 5.0. If the workload requires that memory channel count and that many hot-swap NVMe devices in 1U, this barebone matches; if either number is excessive or insufficient, another form factor will be more appropriate.
