ASUS TUF Gaming A15 with Ryzen 9 7940HS

This gaming laptop pairs an 8-core Ryzen 9 7940HS processor with a GeForce RTX 4070 GPU and 16GB of DDR5 memory. The 15.6-inch Full HD display runs at 144 Hz for smooth motion in fast-paced titles. An 8TB PCIe SSD provides a large, fast storage pool for games and media.

Thermals and power in daily use

The chassis is cooled by a 240 W power supply and a 90 Whr battery that supports extended sessions. Under typical mixed loads the system remains stable without excessive fan noise. Power draw scales with the 5.2 GHz boost clock and the dedicated RTX 4070 graphics workload.

Questions about this item

How do I add more DDR5 memory and which slot is often missed?

The laptop uses DDR5 SO-DIMM modules. One slot is under the keyboard deck and requires removing the bottom cover and disconnecting the battery cable before access, a step many skip and then find the new stick unrecognised.

Which component will need replacement first and what spec should I match?

The 90 WHr battery is the part most likely to degrade. When capacity drops, replace it with another 4-cell 90 WHr unit to keep the original runtime and fit.

What thermal limit appears first during long gaming sessions?

The 240 W power adapter caps sustained combined CPU and GPU draw. Once total system power hits that ceiling the firmware throttles clocks to stay within the brick's rating.
