Ryzen 9 7940HS gaming laptop

The ASUS TUF Gaming A15 pairs an 8-core Ryzen 9 7940HS processor with a GeForce RTX 4070 laptop GPU. 32GB of DDR5 memory and a 15.6 inch 144 Hz Full HD display complete the core specification. It ships with Windows 11 Home and a 90 WHr battery.

Upgrade from integrated or mid-range graphics

The RTX 4070 with 8GB GDDR6 replaces integrated graphics or older discrete GPUs for 1080p gaming and creative workloads. Dual SSD storage in RAID 0 adds 2TB of fast capacity. The jump is worthwhile when you need higher frame rates and dedicated video memory.

Sustained load with 240W power supply

A 240W adapter feeds the CPU and GPU during extended sessions while the 90 WHr battery supports mobile use. Thunderbolt 4 and HDMI 2.1 handle external displays without throttling the internal panel. The chassis stays within its thermal envelope for consistent output.

Questions about this item

What are the exact dimensions of the A15 chassis so I can check bag fit?

The laptop measures 13.94 IN wide, 9.88 IN deep and 0.98 IN thick, weighing 4.85 lb.

How is the 32 GB DDR5 memory installed and what mistake should I avoid?

It ships as two SO-DIMM modules; the common error is buying a single stick or a different DDR generation instead of matching DDR5 4800 MHz pairs.

Which storage component will need replacement first and what spec must the new drive meet?

The two 1 TB PCIe NVMe SSDs in RAID 0 are the wear items; any replacement must be an NVMe drive of equal or greater capacity.
