16-inch 165Hz gaming laptop

The ASUS TUF Gaming A16 pairs an 8-core Ryzen 7 7735HS with a Radeon RX 7600S 8GB GDDR6 GPU. A 16.0-inch IPS-level panel runs at 1920 x 1200 resolution and 165Hz refresh. The system ships with 16GB DDR5 memory and a 2TB PCIe SSD under Windows 11 Home.

Ports and build for mobile creators

Two USB-A 3.2, one USB-C 3.2 and one USB-C USB4 handle peripherals and power delivery, while HDMI 2.1 FRL drives external displays. The gray chassis measures 13.98 x 9.92 x 1.06 inches and weighs 4.85 pounds, with a backlit keyboard, Dolby Atmos audio and Hi-Res certification.

8GB GDDR6 VRAM limits 4K gaming

The Radeon RX 7600S carries 8GB of video memory, which caps texture capacity at higher resolutions. Buyers targeting 4K or heavy VR workloads should consider a model with more VRAM, while 1080p and 1440p players get strong frame rates from this configuration.

Questions about this item

What thermal limit appears first when the Ryzen 7 7735HS runs at 4.7 GHz for long periods?

The CPU turbo frequency is rated at 4.7 GHz, and sustained loads will push the cooling system to its maximum fan speed before any throttling occurs.

How loud and hot does the laptop get when the RX 7600S and Ryzen 7 7735HS run all day?

The 13.98 x 9.92 x 1.06 inch chassis uses dual fans to manage heat from the 8-core CPU and 8GB GDDR6 GPU; expect audible fan noise and warm keyboard deck under continuous load.

Which external display cable do I need to use the HDMI 2.1 FRL port on this laptop?

The HDMI 2.1 FRL port supports high refresh rates at 1920 x 1200; use an Ultra High Speed HDMI cable to match the port's full bandwidth capability.
