18-inch Ryzen 7 260 gaming laptop

The ASUS TUF Gaming A18 FA808UH-RS74-HID12 is an 18-inch Windows 11 Home laptop built around the AMD Ryzen 7 260 16-core processor with a 5.1 GHz max turbo frequency. It targets gamers and creators who want a large 144 Hz IPS-level WUXGA display and factory-applied Gelid GC Extreme thermal compound on the CPU and GPU for lower operating temperatures. The chassis measures 15.71 by 11.14 by 0.74 to 1.05 inches and weighs 5.73 lbs in Eclipse Gray.

64 GB DDR5 5600 MHz and 2 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe

Memory comes as 64 GB in a dual-channel 2 x 32 GB DDR5 5600 MHz configuration, giving ample headroom for multitasking and memory-hungry applications. The 2 TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD provides fast boot and load times for large game libraries and project files. Graphics are handled by the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 with 8 GB GDDR7 video memory, suitable for 1080p gaming at high refresh rates; heavier 1440p or 4K workloads will exceed the GPU's frame-buffer capacity.

Upgraded thermal paste

This unit replaces a standard A18 configuration that would ship with lesser thermal interface material, lower memory capacity and a smaller SSD. The Gelid GC Extreme application, 64 GB DDR5 kit and 2 TB NVMe drive are installed and validated by an authorized ASUS build-to-order dealer with full burn-in and benchmark testing. The jump is worth it when you need immediate high-capacity memory and storage without opening the chassis, and you value the reduced thermal throttling margin from the upgraded compound.

Questions about this item

Will the 18" 144Hz WUXGA panel and RTX 5050 still drive my older 1080p 60Hz external monitor without scaling issues?

Yes. The laptop’s HDMI output can feed a 1080p 60Hz display at native resolution while the internal 1920 x 1200 144Hz panel runs independently, so no forced scaling occurs.

How can I verify the Gelid GC Extreme thermal paste and 64 GB DDR5 5600MHz dual-channel memory are active after first boot?

Open Task Manager’s Performance tab to confirm 64 GB DDR5 at 5600 MHz in dual-channel mode, then run a CPU/GPU stress test — temperatures should stay lower than stock paste baselines.

Does the box include a second M.2 screw or caddy for adding another NVMe drive later?

The package contains the laptop, power adapter, and documentation only; extra M.2 mounting hardware is not supplied and must be purchased separately.
