System overview

The ASUS TUF GT502 is a liquid cooled gaming desktop built around an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 8 core processor running at 4.7GHz and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 with 32GB GDDR7 memory. It ships with 128GB DDR5 RAM, a 4TB NVMe SSD and Windows 11 Home. The 1200W power supply supports the high end component set. Buyers who need a smaller chassis or a lower power draw should look elsewhere.

Thermals and acoustics

A 240mm liquid cooler handles the CPU heat output while the case airflow manages the GPU and memory. In typical gaming sessions the cooling solution keeps temperatures stable without aggressive fan speeds. The power supply runs within its capacity envelope so coil whine and excessive heat are minimal. Systems requiring silent operation under light loads may find the pump audible.

Sustained load behaviour

Under prolonged heavy workloads the liquid cooler maintains consistent CPU frequencies without thermal throttling. The 1200W unit delivers steady power to the RTX 5090 and Ryzen 7 9800X3D combination. Memory and storage speeds remain stable during extended sessions. Builds that demand continuous maximum output for many hours should verify their own cooling headroom.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 240mm liquid cooler in the GT502 case, and which step do people get wrong?

Mount the radiator with tubes at the bottom or side, not the top, to prevent air bubbles from reaching the pump.

What maintenance will the 240mm liquid cooler and 1200W power supply need later?

Clean radiator fins and PSU intake filters every few months; the sealed loop requires no refill unless a leak appears.

What limit appears first when the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and RTX 5090 run sustained loads?

The 240mm radiator surface area limits heat rejection before the 1200W PSU or 128GB DDR5 hit their ratings.
