Compact Wi-Fi 6 USB Adapter

The ASUS USB-AX55 Nano is a tiny network adapter that plugs into a USB 2.0 port and adds dual-band Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity to desktops or laptops. It targets users who need a simple wireless upgrade without opening their case or installing a PCIe card.

Practical limits of USB 2.0 interface

The USB 2.0 connection caps the maximum throughput well below the theoretical peak of Wi-Fi 6, so real-world speeds will not reach the standard’s full potential. Buyers who need the highest possible wireless throughput should consider an adapter with a faster host interface.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the Wi-Fi 5 or Wi-Fi 6 mode for my network?

The adapter supports both Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 6, so it will automatically use the fastest standard your router offers.

What does the 55 rating mean for my actual connection speed?

The 55 designation is the model identifier; real-world throughput depends on your router, signal quality and the USB 2.0 port bandwidth.
