Thin-and-light 15.6-inch laptop

The ASUS VivoBook S513UA-NS77 is a 15.6-inch full-HD notebook built around an AMD Ryzen 7 5700U processor with eight cores and 16 GB of DDR4 memory. It ships with Windows 10 Home and a 1 TB PCIe NVMe SSD. The Indie Black chassis includes a fingerprint reader for Windows Hello sign-in and a backlit keyboard. Buyers who need a dedicated graphics card or a touchscreen should look elsewhere.

Thermals, noise and power draw

The integrated AMD Radeon graphics share system memory, keeping heat output modest during everyday office work, web browsing and video playback. Fan noise stays low under typical productivity loads, and the 15 W-class processor allows the thin design to run cool on a desk or lap. Sustained heavy multi-core tasks will raise surface temperatures and fan speed.

1 TB PCIe NVMe storage

The single specification that decides fit is the 1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD, which sets the total internal capacity for applications and files. There is no second drive bay and the memory is capped at 16 GB with 8 GB soldered and one 8 GB module. Users who require more local storage or upgradeable RAM will need a different model.

Questions about this item

How do I upgrade the memory on the VivoBook S513UA-NS77 and what limit should I watch for?

The laptop has 8 GB soldered on the board and one occupied SO-DIMM slot. Maximum supported memory is 16 GB, so no further upgrade is possible.

Which component will need replacement first during long-term ownership?

The internal battery is the only user-replaceable part that degrades with charge cycles; the 1 TB PCIe SSD and soldered memory are not designed for routine replacement.

What thermal limit appears first when the Ryzen 7 5700U runs sustained workloads?

The 8-core processor shares system memory with Radeon graphics and relies on the thin chassis cooling; prolonged heavy loads will hit thermal throttling before any other limit.
