15.6" FHD IPS Non-Touch Display

The 15.6-inch panel delivers a 1920 x 1080 resolution with IPS technology and 250 nits brightness. An anti-glare coating reduces reflections in bright environments. The non-touch design suits traditional keyboard-and-mouse workflows. Wide viewing angles maintain colour consistency for collaborative work.

Suits Mobile Professionals Not Touch Users

This laptop fits professionals needing a portable 15-inch device with Windows 10 Pro for legacy software compatibility. The single memory slot limits future RAM upgrades beyond the installed 8 GB. Buyers requiring touchscreen interaction or discrete graphics performance should consider alternatives. The 256 GB drive may restrict users with large local media libraries.

256 GB M.2 2242 PCIe 3.0x4 NVMe SSD

The boot drive uses the compact M.2 2242 form factor connected via PCIe 3.0x4 NVMe interface. A second M.2 2280 slot supports an additional drive up to 1 TB for expanded storage. The primary slot maxes out at 512 GB if replaced. Verify 2242 length compatibility when sourcing upgrades.

Questions about this item

What must I already own to expand the 8 GB DDR4 3200 memory in the ThinkPad E15 Gen 2?

The laptop has one soldered 8 GB module and no free slot, so adding memory requires removing the existing stick and installing a single DDR4 3200 module up to 32 GB.

Will my existing M.2 2280 NVMe drive work alongside the factory 256 GB M.2 2242 SSD?

Yes, the chassis supports two drives — one M.2 2242 and one M.2 2280 — so a 2280 NVMe SSD up to 1 TB can be added as a second volume.

How do I verify the Intel Iris Xe Graphics is active after setting up Windows 10 Pro?

Open Device Manager, expand Display adapters and confirm Intel Iris Xe Graphics appears without a warning icon.
