Ready for work and study

The ASUS Vivobook X712DA-202.MV is a 17.3 inch laptop built for home and business users who need a large screen and plenty of storage. It runs Windows 10 Pro on a quad-core AMD Ryzen 7 3700U processor with a base clock of 2.3 GHz and a boost up to 4 GHz. Integrated AMD Radeon RX Vega 10 graphics handle everyday visual tasks. The 12 GB DDR4 memory combines 4 GB soldered and an 8 GB SODIMM module.

Upgraded storage and connectivity

DealKing technicians open the factory box to install a 2 TB PCIe NVMe SSD, replacing the original drive for faster boot and load times. The laptop retains its original 45 W power adapter and 32 WHr two-cell battery. Wireless connectivity uses 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Ports include one USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A, one USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C, two USB 2.0, one HDMI, an SD card reader and a headphone/microphone combo jack.

Silver chassis with full-size layout

The silver chassis measures 16 by 10 by 1 inches and weighs 4 lb, making it a desktop replacement rather than a frequent travel companion. The 1600 by 900 non-touch display runs at 60 Hz and offers a 16:9 aspect ratio. A full-size keyboard with numeric pad suits long typing sessions. An integrated webcam sits above the screen for video calls. The fixed 12 GB memory and lack of an optical drive limit future internal upgrades.

Questions about this item

Can the 8 GB SODIMM DDR4 module be swapped for a larger stick later?

Yes, the 12 GB total uses 4 GB soldered plus an 8 GB SODIMM DDR4 stick that can be replaced.

Will the Ryzen 7 3700U throttle at its 4 GHz turbo under long workloads?

The 45 W adapter and 32 Wh battery limit sustained power, so the 4 GHz boost cannot be held indefinitely.

How loud and hot does the chassis get during all-day use?

The 45 W supply and compact 17.3 inch body mean noticeable fan noise and warm surfaces under continuous load.
