ATX board for Intel Core Ultra Series 2 with 12+1+2+1 80A DrMOS stages, DDR5 to 9066 MT/s, PCIe 5.0 x16 and M.2, Wi-Fi 7, 2.5Gb LAN, Thunderbolt header and four M.2 slots
The ASUS Z890 AYW GAMING WIFI W is an ATX motherboard built for Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors on the LGA 1851 socket. It targets enthusiasts and professionals who need a robust foundation for advanced AI workloads, high-speed storage and next-generation connectivity. Four DDR5 slots support up to 192GB of memory with overclocked speeds reaching 9066+ MT/s.
A 12+1+2+1 phase design uses 80A DrMOS power stages, ProCool connectors, a 6-layer PCB, alloy chokes and durable capacitors for stable delivery. Large VRM heatsinks, dedicated M.2 and PCH heatsinks, plus hybrid fan headers managed by Fan Xpert 4 with AI Cooling II keep temperatures low and fan noise minimal under sustained loads. The board draws power through standard ATX and CPU connectors.
One CPU-attached M.2 slot runs at PCIe 5.0 x4 (Key M, 2280/22110) while three chipset-attached slots run at PCIe 4.0 x4 (Key M, 2280), all with integrated cooling. This layout determines whether your fastest drive gets the full 5.0 bandwidth or shares 4.0 lanes, making it the single specification that decides if the board matches your storage strategy.

Align the processor triangle with the socket marker, lower it gently without force, then close the retention lever; the step often missed is removing the protective cover from the socket before placement.
The CMOS battery on the board will eventually need replacing to keep BIOS settings, and case fans connected to the four 4-pin chassis headers may require cleaning or swapping after extended use.
Sustained operation at 9066 MT/s typically hits the memory controller thermal or voltage stability ceiling first, causing the system to downclock or require increased cooling to maintain the overclock.
