Two-bay NAS with Intel Celeron N5105

The ASUSTOR AS6702T v2 is a desktop network-attached storage unit built around a quad-core Intel Celeron N5105 processor running at 2.0 GHz with a 2.9 GHz burst frequency. It ships with 4 GB of DDR4-2933 memory and provides two drive bays plus four M.2 slots that accept NVMe SSDs for caching or storage tiers. Dual 5GbE RJ-45 ports and two USB 3.2 Gen 2 10Gbps ports handle high-throughput wired connectivity.

Ideal for small-team file sharing

This unit suits creative professionals and small offices that need fast shared storage, Adobe Creative Cloud integration and hardware-accelerated transcoding via the Intel Jasper Lake architecture. Wake on LAN and Wake on WAN support remote management. Buyers who require more than two drive bays, built-in 10GbE ports or ECC memory should consider other platforms.

Four M.2 slots for NVMe caching or storage

The four M.2 slots are the decisive specification: they allow NVMe SSDs to be used simultaneously as read-write cache and as a high-speed storage pool without occupying the 3.5-inch bays. This flexibility lets users tailor performance and capacity to video editing, virtualisation or backup workloads in a single compact chassis.

Questions about this item

Does the AS6702T v2 include any drives or must I purchase the M.2 NVMe SSDs and 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet cables separately?

The unit is sold diskless so you must supply your own M.2 NVMe SSDs for the four slots; 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet cables are also not included.

Should I choose the AS6702T v2 over the non-v2 model for the dual 5GbE ports and four M.2 slots?

Yes, the v2 adds dual 5GbE ports and four M.2 slots while keeping the same Intel Celeron N5105 CPU and 4 GB DDR4-2933 RAM.

How does the 2.0 GHz Intel Celeron N5105 with 2.9 GHz boost perform in a real NAS workload?

The quad-core 10 nm processor delivers up to 31 percent more speed than previous Gemini Lake chips, enabling smooth 4K transcoding and fast file transfers over the dual 5GbE links.
