Two-computer desktop KVM

The ATEN CS82U lets one VGA monitor and a single PS/2 or USB keyboard and mouse control two computers. It supports both PS/2 and USB peripherals on the console side and connects each computer through an SPHD-18 cable set. No software or drivers are required, so the switch works across multiple operating systems immediately after plugging in the cables. The compact desktop unit includes two custom KVM cable sets and a user guide.

Sustained multi-system operation

The switch draws only DC 5 V at 1.1 W and is rated for continuous operation between 0 °C and 50 °C with humidity up to 80 % non-condensing. Front-panel push buttons, hot-key sequences and mouse switching all function without latency during extended sessions, and the AutoScan feature cycles between the two ports at 3, 5, 10 or 20 second intervals. Video DynaSync technology maintains the selected resolution through reboots and long-running workloads, preventing display handshake losses.

2048 x 1536 maximum resolution

The single HDB-15 VGA console port supports up to 2048 x 1536, which determines whether the switch can drive a given monitor at its native setting. Buyers whose displays require a higher resolution will need a different KVM solution. The unit provides one monitor connection and two computer connections, so setups needing more than two sources or multiple simultaneous displays are not supported.
