Direct replacement panel

This 17.3 inch LCD panel matches part number LP173WD1(TL)(H4) exactly. It restores the original HD+ 1600x900 resolution on laptops that shipped with this specific screen model. The 40 pin video connector aligns with the factory cable routing. Buyers needing a touch-enabled display or a different resolution cannot use this part.

Low heat and silent operation

The display draws minimal power and produces no audible noise because it has no moving parts. Surface temperature stays low during typical office work or video playback at the native 60Hz refresh rate. Brightness is rated at 200 cd/m² with a 300:1 contrast ratio. Users requiring higher brightness for outdoor use will find this panel dim.

Restores factory visual quality

This screen replaces a cracked, dead-pixel or backlight-failed LP173WD1(TL)(H4) unit and returns the laptop to its as-shipped image quality. The upgrade is worthwhile when the existing panel is physically damaged or no longer lights evenly. It does not increase resolution, refresh rate or colour gamut beyond the original specification.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 40-pin connector on the LP173WD1 (TL)(H4) screen without damaging the pins?

Align the 40-pin video signal connector carefully with the motherboard socket, insert it straight without forcing, and secure the retaining latch; the most common mistake is angling the connector which bends the delicate pins.

What maintenance will the LP173WD1 (TL)(H4) panel need after extended use?

The 17.3 inch HD+ panel has no user-serviceable parts; only periodic cleaning of the anti-glare surface with a microfibre cloth is required, and the CCFL backlight is not separately replaceable.

At what point does the 200 cd/m² brightness limit become noticeable on the LP173WD1 (TL)(H4) during long sessions?

In brightly lit rooms or direct sunlight the 200 cd/m² maximum brightness and 300:1 contrast ratio wash out detail first, making the 1600x900 image harder to read before any other limitation appears.
