15.6" QHD 165Hz 40-pin replacement panel

This 15.6 inch display carries the NE156QHM-NY6 part number and fits laptops designed for that exact panel. It delivers Quad HD 2560x1440 resolution at a 165Hz refresh rate without a touch layer. The 40-pin video connector matches the original equipment specification.

40-pin eDP interface limits cable length

The 40-pin connector carries the embedded DisplayPort signal and locks the panel to laptops wired for this pinout. A 300 cd/m² brightness ceiling and 1000:1 contrast ratio set the practical visibility range in bright rooms. The fixed 165Hz timing means the host GPU must drive that exact refresh configuration.

Upgrades 60Hz or 144Hz Full HD panels

Swapping a lower-resolution or slower-refresh screen for this QHD 165Hz unit sharpens text and smooths motion when the laptop’s GPU and firmware support the NE156QHM-NY6 timings. The improvement is only worthwhile if the machine already routes a 40-pin eDP link to the lid and the BIOS accepts the higher pixel clock. Builders needing touch input or a different pin count cannot use this panel.

Questions about this item

Which part number matches my laptop for the 15.6" QHD 165Hz screen?

The panel carries part number NE156QHM-NY6; verify that your service manual lists this exact code before ordering.

What does the 165 Hz refresh rate deliver in daily use?

It redraws the 2560x1440 image up to 165 times per second, so fast motion in games or video scrubbing stays sharp without ghosting.

How does the 40-pin connector limit compatibility?

The 40-pin video signal interface only fits laptops wired for that pin-out; it will not work with 30-pin or 50-pin harnesses.
