Compatible 15.6 inch replacement screen

This 15.6 inch panel is built as a direct replacement for laptops using the NT156WHM-N42 part number. It matches the original HD 1366x768 resolution and 30-pin video connector. The screen is new and non-touch, intended for owners repairing a cracked or dim display on a matching chassis.

HD resolution and 60 Hz refresh ceiling

The panel delivers 1366x768 pixels at a 60 Hz refresh rate with 220 cd/m² brightness and a 400:1 contrast ratio. This limits suitability to everyday office work, web browsing and video playback at standard definition. The fixed HD resolution cannot scale to higher detail levels, and the 60 Hz ceiling prevents smoother motion in fast-paced content.

Straightforward 30-pin swap with alignment care

Installation requires disconnecting the battery, removing the bezel and swapping the 30-pin connector. The connector keying prevents reversed insertion, but the fragile ribbon cable can tear if pulled at an angle. Common issues include misaligned mounting brackets and backlight failure caused by pinching the cable during reassembly.

Questions about this item

Is the NT156WHM-N42 the only version that fits my laptop?

The part number NT156WHM-N42 identifies this exact 15.6 inch HD panel with a 30-pin connector; match that number to your service manual before ordering.

What does the 220 cd/m² brightness mean for everyday use?

At 220 cd/m² the screen is readable indoors and in shaded outdoor areas, though direct sunlight will wash out the image.

Will the 30-pin connector limit the refresh rate to 60 Hz?

The panel runs at 60 Hz over its 30-pin video signal connector; the interface does not support higher refresh rates on this model.
