Bandwidth and Format Limits at 18.5 Gbps

The HDMI 2.0 interface caps throughput at 18.5 Gbps, allowing 3840x2160p at 60 Hz with RGB 4:4:4 chroma and up to 36-bit deep colour. HDR10 and Dolby Vision metadata pass through, but higher refresh rates or uncompressed 4K beyond this bandwidth are not supported. HDCP 2.2 and 1.4 compliance enables protected content playback from streaming sticks and disc players.

Replaces Manual Cable Swapping and Basic Selectors

This switch upgrades from physically unplugging cables or using older 1080p-only selectors that lack HDR and 4K 60 Hz support. The jump is worth it when you run three modern sources like a PS5, Apple TV and Blu-ray player into one 4K display and need reliable IR remote switching up to 16 ft. It does not suit users who require picture-in-picture or more than three inputs.
