What this cable does

This two-pack of AUBEAMTO Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort 1.4 cables connects a laptop or desktop with a Mini DisplayPort output to a monitor or projector with a full-size DisplayPort input. Each cable supports bi-directional transmission so the same adapter works in either direction. The copper conductors and triple shielding carry up to 32.4 Gbps for 8K resolution at 60 Hz or 4K at 144 Hz.

Bandwidth and resolution limits

The DisplayPort 1.4 link tops out at 32.4 Gbps, which caps usable formats at 7680x4320 pixels at 60 Hz or 3840x2160 pixels at 144 Hz. Lower resolutions such as 1920x1080 at 165 Hz are also possible. The cable cannot exceed these refresh rates, and the host device must be configured to the desired mode in its display settings.

Installation notes

The connectors are female Mini DisplayPort to male DisplayPort, so a separate Mini DisplayPort cable is required when the source is a full-size DisplayPort computer and the display has a Mini DisplayPort input. The laptop’s Mini DisplayPort must support DP Alternate Mode for video output. Thunderbolt 1 and 2 ports will not work with this adapter. The converter handles video and audio only; it does not pass data.
