Turntable for New and Returning Vinyl Listeners

The Audio-Technica AT-LP60X-GM is a fully automatic belt-drive turntable finished in gun metal. It plays 33 and 45 RPM records and includes a built-in switchable phono preamp for direct connection to amplifiers, powered speakers or a computer. A redesigned tonearm base and external AC adapter reduce resonance and noise. A replaceable Dual Magnet cartridge is integrated into the headshell.

Check Your Amplifier Inputs and Space

Verify that your system has a spare line-level RCA input or a 3.5 mm auxiliary input for the supplied cable. The preamp switch must match the input type: line for standard inputs, phono for dedicated phono stages. The unit requires a 240 volt mains supply and measures 14.15 inches wide by 14.70 inches deep by 3.84 inches high. Ensure the shelf can support 5.73 lb and allows clearance for the hinged dust cover to open fully.

Fits a Compact Hi-Fi or Desktop Setup

The turntable needs only a stable level surface and a nearby mains socket for the external power supply. Its low 1.0 watt consumption adds negligible load. The detachable 3.5 mm to dual RCA cable connects directly to powered speakers, a stereo receiver or a computer sound card without a separate phono stage. The removable dust cover protects the platter and cartridge when not in use, while the 45 RPM adapter stores on the spindle.

Questions about this item

Does the box include cables and adapters, or must I buy them separately?

The package contains the turntable, a detachable 3.5 mm male to dual RCA male output cable, a 45 RPM adapter and a removable hinged dust cover; no extra cables or adapters are required for basic stereo or powered-speaker connection.

Is there a choice of speeds or cartridge options on this model?

The turntable plays 33 and 45 RPM records only and comes with a fixed Dual Magnet cartridge and replaceable stylus integrated into the headshell; there are no alternative cartridges or speed selections.

How does the 50 decibel signal-to-noise ratio affect everyday listening?

A 50 decibel signal-to-noise ratio means background noise from the motor and electronics is low enough that surface noise on typical vinyl will be more audible than the turntable's own hiss during quiet passages.
