Fully Manual Belt-Drive Operation

The Audio-Technica AT-LP7 is a fully manual belt-drive turntable designed for listeners who want hands-on control of vinyl playback. It operates at two speeds, 33-1/3 RPM and 45 RPM, and includes a VM520EB Dual Moving Magnet cartridge mounted on a 10 g AT-HS10 headshell. A speed-sensor system in the motor maintains accurate platter rotation for consistent pitch stability. The 40 mm MDF chassis provides anti-vibration damping to limit low-frequency feedback.

Upgrade Path via VM Stylus Line

The supplied 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical bonded stylus can be swapped for any of the six other styli available in the VM line. This allows a listener to improve tracking and frequency response without replacing the entire cartridge. The J-shaped tone arm includes adjustable counterweight and anti-skate controls, plus a height range of 0 mm to 6 mm, so the arm can be calibrated precisely for the chosen stylus profile. The metallic gimbal suspension and precision bearings reduce tracking errors across the record surface.

Integration Into a Home Audio System

The turntable outputs a phono-level signal through RCA connectors, requiring a phono preamplifier or an amplifier with a dedicated phono stage. Its 40 mm MDF construction and anti-resonance platter suppress vibration, letting the cartridge resolve detail without colouration from the chassis. The adjustable tone arm height accommodates a wide variety of cartridges beyond the fitted VM520EB, giving the builder flexibility to match the turntable to different system voicings.
