HA-pair VoIP Gateway for enterprise redundancy

The AudioCodes Mediant 800B HA-pair bundles two base gateway units into a single high-availability solution for small-to-medium enterprises. Each appliance provides 12 RJ45 ports that can be populated with FXS, FXO, BRI or PRI interface cards depending on purchased licences. The redundant design keeps voice services online if one unit fails. It functions as both a media gateway and an Enterprise Session Border Controller.

Sustained operation with automatic failover

Under continuous traffic the paired units share state so that active calls survive a hardware fault without interruption. The secondary gateway monitors the primary and assumes control within seconds when a failure is detected. This behaviour protects revenue-generating calls during extended operating periods rather than only during brief peak bursts. Transcoding and routing tasks continue on the surviving node without manual intervention.

Check licences, interface cards and rack space

Before ordering, confirm which analogue or digital interface cards you need for the 12 RJ45 slots and verify that the corresponding software licences are purchased or available. Ensure your rack can accommodate two separate gateway units and that power and network cabling reach both appliances. Compatibility with your existing SIP trunk or PBX signalling should also be validated.
