100W USB-C GaN charger for MacBook

This 100 watt USB-C power adapter uses gallium nitride technology to deliver up to 20 volts at 5 amps. It supports USB Power Delivery 3.0 and automatically negotiates the correct voltage for connected devices. The unit accepts a universal 100 to 240 volt input at 50 to 60 hertz. A six foot dual USB-C cable is integrated into the design.

Sustained 100W output with GaN efficiency

Gallium nitride semiconductors allow the adapter to maintain its full 100 watt rating without the thermal throttling common in smaller silicon chargers. The charger identifies the attached device and adjusts output to match 100, 96, 87, 70, 67, 65, 61, 45, 35, 30 or 20 watt profiles. This keeps temperatures lower during extended charging sessions for 16, 15, 14 or 13 inch MacBook Pro and Air models from 2019 through 2025.

USB Power Delivery 3.0 negotiates up to 100W

The USB-C connector is limited to the Power Delivery 3.0 standard, so maximum output stops at 100 watts and 20 volts. Devices that require higher voltages or proprietary protocols above 100 watts will not charge at their peak rate. The adapter steps down automatically for older MacBook models rated at 87, 61 or 45 watts and for any USB-C device supporting PD 3.0 or earlier revisions.

Questions about this item

Does the 100 W GaN adapter stay cool and quiet when powering a 16-inch MacBook Pro all day?

The charger uses GaN technology and delivers up to 20 V 5 A (100 W max) without a fan, so it runs silently and stays cooler than traditional silicon adapters under continuous load.

What cable do I need to use the USB-C Power Delivery 3.0 output on this charger?

A USB-C to USB-C cable rated for at least 100 W (5 A) is required; the 6 ft dual C-port cable included with the unit meets that specification.

Will the 20 V 5 A output charge my 2019 15-inch MacBook Pro that originally used an 87 W adapter?

Yes, the charger supports PD 3.0 and automatically adjusts to 87 W, 96 W or 100 W profiles, so it works safely with the 2019 15-inch model and other listed MacBooks.
