Purpose and fit

The Auto Ventshade FM transmitter adds Bluetooth 5.0 audio streaming and hands-free calls to any vehicle with a 12 V or 24 V socket. It also supplies two USB ports rated at 5 V 3.1 A each for charging phones and tablets simultaneously. The device draws power directly from the cigarette lighter and requires no permanent installation.

Sustained-load behaviour

The unit delivers up to 15.5 W total across both USB outputs while maintaining a Bluetooth 5.0 link to the car stereo. Supplier notes state the charger will become warm during use, which is normal provided the temperature does not exceed 60 °C at typical cabin conditions. Built-in protection stops operation if over-current, instability or a short circuit is detected.

Deciding specification

Total USB power is capped at 15.5 W with each port limited to 5 V 3.1 A, so the adapter cannot fast-charge devices that demand higher wattage. Buyers who need more charging power for laptops or multiple high-draw tablets should consider a dedicated PD charger instead.
